With Allison’s wedding quickly approaching (September 25th or so) my coworkers are looking to set me up with a guy yet again. My most recent set up was back in May with Amy’s friend. He was really cool and we went on two dates with Amy and Brad but….he hasn’t called since then and I’ve moved on. I guess he still plans on calling me but who knows when that will be. Lois retired from PPG a couple months ago and she was replaced with a 25 year old cutie. Jan told me about him after her first meeting with him and is hoping some spark will happen between us but….he has a girlfriend and I don’t want to date anyone from work.
My coworkers also feel I should date a runner or at least someone who is as athletic as me. Let me be clear: I don’t want to date a runner. Yeah, we would have something in common, but for one thing runners are really skinny. At least the ones who would run as long and often as I do. Now I don’t have a type; all of the guys I’ve dated are all over the spectrum. I dated a short, long haired hippie in high school and two years after, then a tall, drummer with tattoos and a motorcycle and then a tall, skinny tech geek. I don’t have a type, seriously. Another thing about dating a runner: I’d be super competitive with him and that would probably hurt our relationship.
But I do prefer guys who are taller than me and who aren’t skinnier than me. I don’t need a runner though and I hate when guys are like ‘oh, I feel so lazy because you are so active.’ Guess what? I don’t care! I just need the guy to understand that I’m crazy about running (really, I am!) and be a little athletic. I mean even if he golfed that would be fine with me.
So just because everyone else is tying/has tied the knot doesn’t mean I need to anytime soon or that I need a boyfriend right away!
