I LOVE My Job!!!

Monday was my first day at Matthew’s Paint, PPG. I am flying to Kenosha, Wisconsin for my training and flying home on weekends. In about two weeks I should be moving to Columbus, Ohio. Everything is happening so fast, it’s crazy! But I love it!

I only went into to work for about 2 and 1/2 hours Monday but afterwards all I could think is: I LOVE my job! I know it seems a bit early to say that but Thursday night I was still saying it and my mom could tell when I called her that I am TRULY happy and it’s been awhile since I’ve been this happy. The people are great, I like the two customer service reps I work with, Niki and Ellen. This week Allison, the Marketing Coordinator, will join us.

Matt, who is training me, is awesome. They call him ‘ADD boy’ because he’ll start one thing and then skip to another thing that comes up. It doesn’t bother me though; I try to keep him on task if I think I’ll get confused. My territory is the Southeast and my major accounts are Disney, Creative Colors, and Hope’s Windows. We supply the paint for the signs outside in Disney and have 75% of the market in Florida. Matt was nervous about meeting me, he was afraid I wouldn’t represent Matthew’s Paint well or his customers wouldn’t be in good hands with me. I’m really sad that I won’t be working with Matt in Delaware because it is so much fun training with him.

What I love most is throughout the week there were little things that just made my day. For example we all received Matthew’s Paint laptop bags. The hotel we’re staying at has cookies in the afternoon when we return from work (and they’re good!). Those are the only things I can think of right now but I get excited about the little things. I think it’s better to live your life that way, to have reasonable expectations but appreciate the little things.

The best thing about the end of the week is Ohio State LOST and Niki, Ellen, and Chad are fans (and Penn State won)!!!

I HAVE A JOB!!!

Guess what?!

I HAVE A JOB!!! I am SO excited! I’ll be a Customer Service Representative for PPG Industries in Delaware, Ohio.  PPG Industries is headquarted in Pittsburgh, they are a multinational company that manufacturers and distributes paint, fiber glass, coatings, chemicals and specialty materials.  I’ll be working at the coatings plant in Delaware and assist customers with pricing, product information, processing orders, and tracking orders.

I am so glad I never gave up and kept searching for a job, I would have gone insane if I were unemployed for another month! And I get to go on my cruise to Key West and Cozumel, Mexico this week before I start!

It’s funny that I’ll be working in Delaware, Ohio because I’ll be an hour from Columbus in Buckeye territory. When I went to Kent State, I was an hour from Cleveland, Browns territory.  My mom said she thought I would always end up working/living in Ohio.  I love Pittsburgh and would love to work/live there too but I want to move away from home and experience something different, I like change.  I never considered going to school in Pittsburgh, my mom said it was because my high school boyfriend was going to Kent.  But I loved Kent despite the fact that he went there too.

No worries though, I won’t be jumping on the Ohio State bandwagon just like how I didn’t jump on the Browns bandwagon. WE :: ARE :: PENN :: STATE ::
